Compassionate Self-Care Strategies: Kaiser Permanente September 12, 2018

Last week, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach a 45 minute Mental Health Exercises module for Kaiser Permanente, during a union nurses 8 hour continuing education day.

It was a privilege to share how the gentle, subtle, and therapeutic tools of Yoga and Yoga Therapy can assist nurses with patient care, as well as assist in preventing caregiver burnout, via daily compassionate self-care strategies.

I was encouraged to bring handouts/resources about the 12-week Yoga Therapeutics for Chronic Back Pain program I am piloting at Kaiser Permanente in the Downey, CA along with any other information about Yoga and Yoga Therapy I felt would be useful.

I’ve already received emails from other KP locations thanking me for the presentation and inquiring if/when I can present more info about Yoga Therapy to their individual department.

It’s exciting to see “Certified Yoga Therapist” and C-IAYT getting recognized in a line up as a respected resource for self-care strategies in clinical settings.

I look forward to enjoying more opportunities to share these gifts with others.
